Christie’s Education’s certificate course, Collecting Luxury, introduces participants to the markets for the most sought-after objects outside the traditional fine art categories. Over five virtual sessions, learners hear directly from Christie’s specialists and collectors, and join a group of peers with a shared interest in the field.

Each session focuses on a single category, including watches, jewellery, handbags and wine. Participants will look at what drives value in each market, from rarity and condition to provenance and brand, and how these factors differ between a vintage Rolex, a signed jewel and a first-growth Bordeaux. Sessions also cover how to buy and sell at auction, how to assess authenticity, and how each market has developed in recent years.

Collecting Luxury is designed for new and established collectors, enthusiasts, and those working in or around the luxury sector. Participants will finish the course with a clear understanding of how these markets work and the confidence to buy, sell and build a collection with a more informed eye.
