Inside the Art Market
London Spring Intensive

Christie's Education offers a unique three-day educational experience exploring the complexities and nuances of the art market. Using the city of London and Christie's as living classrooms, the course combines expert-led sessions with exclusive tours to enrich participants' understanding of the art landscape.

Participants will engage with art-market experts in a series of comprehensive sessions that illustrate the journey of an artwork from studio to sale. The curriculum covers essential topics such as collection management, art advisory, art as an asset class, working with artists, the importance of residency spaces, and the role of the critic. Highlights include exclusive behind-the-scenes tours of Christie’s auction house and its warehouse, providing rare insights into the operation of one of the world's leading auction houses.

In addition to learning from specialists, attendees will also experience the vibrant London art scene first-hand. The itinerary includes an artist studio crawl in South London, a tour of a residency space and prominent galleries, offering a holistic view of the art ecosystem. These outings not only complement the classroom learning but also allow participants to apply their knowledge in real-world settings, bridging theoretical concepts and practical exposure.

Study at the world's leading Auction House

Christie’s, the world's oldest fine art auctioneer, has sold fine art, furniture, jewellery and wine since James Christie conducted the first sale in London on 5 December 1766. Christie’s London has continued to provide the perfect backdrop for the sales of the world’s finest collections and greatest works of art ever since.

Christie’s moved to its global headquarters at 8 King Street, St. James’s in 1823. The gallery spaces at King Street are transformed into classrooms during our exclusive programming in London, so that students are immersed in the fast-paced environment of the auction house.
